Dr. J.D. Abbott, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of Old Bethel United Methodist Church.  He was ordained an Elder by Bishop Woodie W. White on June 12, 1997.  Rev. Abbott is a second career pastor having been employed in executive positions with Kmart Corporation at their world headquarters in Troy, Michigan and Thornton Oil Corporation's national headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Abbott is married to LeAnn K. Abbott.  LeAnn is an Administrative Law Judge supervisor for the State of Indiana.  Their family consists of the oldest daughter Donna Raff, her husband Jim and son Trevor, Marsha Gomez, her husband Mike and children Braydon, Zachary and Alexis, son Chad and youngest daughter Lauren.
