Our Beliefs

When John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, was asked, "What is a Methodist?" he replied, using the words of our Father, "A Methodist is one who loves the Lord, our God with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind, and with all his strength."  Click below to learn more about our beliefs at Old Bethel United Methodist Church!

Our History

The first church building was a log cabin given to the Methodists by Andrew Shearer in 1838.  The church was originally called Bethel which means "House of God" in Hebrew.  The name was later changed to Old Bethel to distinguish it from New Bethel church in Wanamaker.  The church has been in the same general location for over 150 years.  Click below for more information on the history of Old Bethel!

Our Membership

Pastors and Staff

Abbott, Jr., the pastors and staff at Old Bethel are determined to serve the church and community to the best of their abilities by teaching about the Word of God and equipping those they work with for serving the Lord.  Click below to learn more about each individual and their role in Old Bethel's ministries!
