Michael Douce, musician extradordinaire, born 25 years ago in Columbus, Ohio. As a two-year-old toddler, Michael used his little fingers to gently play the ivories on a family piano, so his parents started him on piano lessons before age three. By age five he was studying with Mary Craig Powell, a professor at Capital University, with whom he studied classical piano with through his high school years.
A student in Jazz Piano and Music Business, Michael graduated from Butler University in 2005, earning a B.S. in Music and Recording Industry Studies. He has recorded several solo albums, as well as multiple albums with others. His most recent release was in 2007: a solo piano Christmas CD, full of original jazz arrangements of holiday favorites. He has been the Director of Contempoary Music at Old Bethel for five years, and he has recently taken on additional worship media responsibilities in order to advance Old Bethel technologically.
