Marriage Discipleship

Groomsmen stand at attention as the music swells and the bride begins her walk down the aisle, arm in arm with her father.  The smiling but nervous husband-to-be follows every step, his eyes brimming with love.  Then happy tears are shed, vows are stated and families merged.  A wedding is a joyous celebration of love.  It is the mystery of two becoming one, of beginning life together and commitment.  Marriage is ordained by God and illustrates His relationship with His people.  Read on below to learn more about what we believe a marriage to be, and how to schedule your wedding at Old Bethel.

Marriage at Old Bethel

When you are married at Old Bethel, a covenant is made with God.  We believe marriage is God's plan, and a man and woman can experience the fullness of its joy only if God is a partner in the marriage.   We pray that you not only seek His blessing for the wedding ceremony, but seek His presence daily.

Marriage Discipleship is a prerequisite to any wedding ceremony performed at Old Bethel.  During this time, Senior Pastor Jerry Rairdon will meet with you to discuss aspects of Christian discipleship in your life before and after you get married, as well as basic marriage counseling  to ensure there are no surprises when you begin your lives together.

For information regarding weddings at Old Bethel, please contact our Executive Secretary, Lynda Preston at the church office (359-9651) or by email at lpreston@oldbethel.org.   Set up an appointment to meet with her and one of our pastors, or stop by to take a look at the beautiful sanctuary that can hold up to 600 guests!
