The chief role of the Missions Team at Old Bethel is to be responsive to local, national and international needs and programs deserving the support of the church. This is accomplished by searching out and continually making known to church members, the needs and opportunities that exist outside the local church.

Whether by donation or active participation, members of the Missions Team seek to respond to Christ’s teaching to “go...make disciples”, “preach the good news”, “feed my lambs”, and “take care of my sheep”, through support of the following programs:

Wheeler Mission
Operation Classroom(Africa)
Metro Ministries of the UMC
Joy in the Harvest (Tanzania)
Emergency Relief Angel Fund
Faith Ministry(Reynosa, Mexico)
Fletcher Place
Heifer Project
East 10th Street Children’s Ministries
Area Youth Ministries of Indpls
Brightwood Center
Redbird Missionary Conference
Refugee Camp Assistance
Vida Nueva
Tim & Andrea Danz (Bangladesh)
Likasi Women’s School
UMCOR
Interfaith Hospitality Network
Feed the Hungry
Habitat for Humanity (Indpls)

Resources to support these projects are received through special offerings at Advent and Lent, by Centurion Cup and Faith Promise giving, special appeals and donations, and by pennies placed in the offering plates.

Christ asked Peter if he loved Him. He told him how to respond if he did. Supporters of missions show their love for Jesus Christ by their obedient response.
