Over 60 years ago, Old Bethel was issued its first charter from Boy Scouts of America to use Scouting as a part of its service to its members and surrounding community. It has been a ministry that nurtures boys’ growth in Christian morals and character, citizenship, and the development of physical, mental, and emotional fitness.
Today, Old Bethel sponsors both BSA’s Cub Scout Pack 137 for boys ages 6—10 and Boy Scout Troop 137 for boys ages 11—18. Trained adult leaders utilize specific activities and programs to achieve Scouting’s aims of developing each boy’s character, values, and abilities that prepare them to deal with the many challenges life presents. Advancement through the ranks of Scouting can enhance a boy’s sense of personal achievement and increase their desire to excel in service to others.
Membership is open to age-specific boys and adults who support the Boy Scout of America’s aims and principles. We want you and your son to be a part of Old Bethel’s Scouting program. Contact John Shurig at 317-359-3644 for more.
