Got Questions?

We hope this page will give you some answers to your questions and direct you to some helpful and encouraging resources.  Old Bethel UMC Student Ministries desires to be a conduit of grace to our parents.  The majority of our leaders are parents as well, with a few that are currently parenting teens and beyond.  With that said, we try to understand your hopes and concerns and filter it all through the word of God.

Parent Connect:  This is our Facebook page just for parents!  Here, we post up-to-date announcements, calendar information, links to various articles that are relevant to you, Scripture, and quotes and comments that we believe will be a blessing to you.  We will will also post info and "Connect Questions" via this site so you can get a feel for what your students are learning.  We believe this is extremely important for you to know.  We seriously don't shy away from parental participation and encourage you to sit in on one of our worship services or small group studies, just so you can know what they are taking in.  Why not?

Parent Link:  Monthly updates into the lives of the teenage world. Content includes:  music reviews, movie briefings, culture trends, shifts in values and attitudes, and more.

Youth News & Events:
Each month's newsletter features upcoming events and a calendar.  Please feel free to join us!  We're always happy to have an extra chaperone and it's really a great time.  If we go on a mission trip...you're invited!  If we go  play LaserTag…you're invited!  If we head off to a great conference...well guess what?  You're invited!

Parent Fellowship Nights:  This is your time to connect with parents and youth ministry volunteers.  We meet monthly at local restaurants or parent host homes.

Family Bible Studies:  In 2011, The youth ministry will make available Bible studies for families to do together that intentionally promote stronger relationships. For those families who cannot find time to get the family together during the week, they will be given opportunity to do so on Sunday morning in place of breaking up the family for Sunday School.  Stay tuned for our first study launching during the Lenten season!

Our Leadership:  We desire to have the cream of the crop with our leaders, and at the same time we desire to bring in those who are growing to be leaders.  Our leadership team consists of a wide variety of people.  We have public school teachers and staff, full-time mothers, a recent high school graduate, and the list goes on.  Each of these wear one, two, or three hats in our ministry.  Some are small group leaders, Sunday School teachers, chaperones, event planners, and behind-the-scenes "technicians".  We would love to have you on our team!  All volunteers are "Safe Sanctuaries" trained and undergo a criminal history background check.   Click here to see our Safe Sanctuaries Policy
Please explore all of the highlighted links above and the rest of the youth area on this website.
There's plenty more to look at!

Let's Work Together!

As Old Bethel's Student Minister, I want to know how best to serve your teen and your family, so I have some questions for YOU!

1. What’s going on in your family and your kid’s life right now that would help me and the youth leaders know how to best work with your student?
2. How can the youth ministry support you and your family better?
3. How are YOU doing spiritually right now?

Feel free to email me with your questions too!
