Family Ministries Blog

March 24, 2016

Thank you to all who helped with the Old Bethel Community Easter Egg Hunt. It was a beautiful time of connecting with our friends in this community; the turnout was great, as was the faithful service of you all.

During this Passion Week, and leading up to Easter Sunday, I am reminded of the relentless love of Christ for us.  Also, and especially, I am reminded of the hope of resurrection. So, what valuable lessons can we teach our kids about the resurrection?

  • The resurrection means that Christ is in the business of making all things new. Therefore, when we are going through hard times, painful times and uncertain times, Christ’s resurrection of overcoming death means we can have hope (Orange theme of the month)

  • Also, the resurrection means that we can have hope for our friends, family and classmates to experience the love of God. This is because resurrection means that our sins have been defeated and we can have a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

As the kids have learned in Kids' Church this month, hope is believing that something good can come out of something bad. When they saw the empty tomb, those witnesses presumed something bad had taken place. But, one by one, when people experienced the risen Jesus, they realized that something good had come from what they thought was bad and the end. Resurrection = Hope

Have a Blessed week!
