VBS is coming!!! Save the date July 11th – 15th 2016.  Our theme is Cave Quest. Be thinking about who you can invite.  And, we still need volunteers.

The theme of the month for our Family ministries (May) is; contentment.  We say that contentment is; deciding to be happy with what you’ve got.  Our verse of the month is from Philippians; “I have learned the secret of being content no matter what happens. I am content whether I am well fed or hungry. I am content whether I have more than enough or not enough.” (Philippians 4:12b, NIrV).

From an early age kids become programmed with wanting more.  It’s hard to be content when a friend or sibling is playing with a toy that we suddenly decide we want to play with.  In fact, both kids and adults alike struggle with contentment; kids want what the other has and adults are rarely satisfied with their lot in life.  I believe we can help each other discover contentment by practicing thankfulness on regular bases.  Indeed, why not try a couple of times a week (at dinner, for example) and have each person in the family mention one thong they’re thankful for, however big or small.  The more we practice thankfulness the more we will realize how much we have physically, and in Christ.

Have a Blessed week!

Pastor Matthew
