Good News & Updates: September 12, 2022


1. Everyone is invited to a church-wide meeting in Fellowship Hall this Sunday, September 18, at 3pm. This meeting is for discussion and questions about the One Board model and proposals for the proceeds from the Prospect Campus property sale. In the meantime, for any questions, talk to Pastor Adriane.


2. Old Bethel Travelers head to Derby Dinner Playhouse Wednesday, October 12, to see Murder on the Orient Express. The bus will board at 9am and return around 5:45pm. Tickets are limited and cost is $75. Please make checks payable to OBUMC and put in the Old Bethel Travelers box in the church reception office or mail to Brenda Maley, 1640 Park Chase Place, Indpls 46229. The sign up deadline is this Sunday, September 18. Please make reservation quickly so we do not have to cancel.

3. Chat with Pastor Adriane Tuesday, September 20. All are welcome to stop in for lunch or just to chat any time from 11:30am-2:30pm. Bring a brown bag lunch if you like. This is the second of on-going opportunities to connect with Pastor Adriane in person either one-on-one or with others.

4. Lunch Bunch will meet at the Irish Mutt, (7041 East 10th Street) at 11:30am Wednesday, September 28. Please sign up on clipboard in church reception office or call Brenda Maley at 317-894-1178 for reservations.

5. To be included in the 2022 engraving of portico bricks, please submit your completed order form and payment no later than September 30. Order forms are available in the literature rack in the lobby. You may contact Linda Brady (317-847-9953) or Sue Dugger (317-356-0765) with any questions.

6. Annual Trunk or Treat Sunday October 30, from 3-5pm. Join in the fun as we greet our neighbors with decorated trunks, the Celebration Puppeteers and lots of candy. Volunteers are needed to decorate the trunk of their car and pass out candy. We will provide the candy, you provide the decorated trunk! You may indicate your participation on today’s Connection Card. Donations of individually wrapped pieces of candy will be accepted in October. Thank you for your continued support and help!

7. The East Washington Street Meijer helps the food pantry battle hunger through their Simply Give campaign. To take part, visit the Meijer store on East Washington Street thru October 1 and purchase a $10 Simply Give donation card. Meijer matches each donation. On this day, Meijer doubles their match to $20 - your $10 donation becomes $30! Thank you for helping the Old Bethel & Partners Food Pantry feed our community.
