Mentoring
Student Mentors
As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. We aim to provide a mentor for each of our students with the goal of increasing the amount of significant adults in a student's life. Our mentors are not required to be at all events, but just show up from time to time, at games, recitals, events etc. We'd love for you to play a key role in the life of our next generation of leaders.

Pleasant Run Reading Team
Pleasant Run Elementary School is our neighbor just south of Old Bethel. They have one of the highest free/reduced lunch rates in the country and have real and great needs. Old Bethel has partnered with Pleasant Run to provide mentors to the children. You cannot underestimate the effect “one on one” time with a caring adult has on a child. It has had a significant impact on the children, the school, and the mentors. When you invest time into a child’s life consistently, you create lasting effects.
As a Mentor you will:
• Meet with your designated child one day a week for 45 min.
• Read, play games, discuss age appropriate current events, discover their interests, etc.
• Help each child to believe in their potential, and help them to see themselves in a bigger role with a better story than people around them see them
If you are interested in being a part of this team of faithful and caring adults, please contact Nancy Bellinger. You will go through training and have a background check kept on file at Pleasant Run for the entire school year.
No teaching experience or prior experience necessary, just a willingness to make a difference.
